So I have seen a pattern recently. Every new build home owner I visit says the same thing, "There's just no storage", or "They wanted too much money for the extras".
Even though the quality of the insulation is great, the windows fitted with longevity in mind and the house built to regulated standards, there is still a hole in the design. A space that needs to be filled.
The property I visited yesterday on Bridgefields had zero storage. The space was there, but there was nothing in it. The client explained to me that they were offered a fitted wardrobe at point of sale, but due to the escalating costs of the extras (lawn, patio (2 slabs) and fence. . . i know) they decided against the wardrobe for their master bedroom.
It was a good job they did too, because I have seen what these 'wardrobes' look like and are made from. Firstly, they are not proper wardrobes, they are a framework and doors with no internals.
They simply hang a rail in the space, then roughly build a frame for the doors to go on and that's it. I've seen them, I've owned them and they are not worth the money. What's more, most of the doors they buy are mass produced, not custom sized and also usually end of line. So you can see they make a fast buck, and then you have to live with it.
For around £3000 which is the average price for 2 double wardrobes made from just these facades, which are worth about £200 at the most, you could get so much more for your money from a custom build. Obviously what we are here for! But this isn't a sales pitch really, it's just an opinion that the quality of the house builds is increasing but the quality of the inclusions is decreasing. Yet the house prices for new builds still rise.
If you are in a new build or looking to buy, we are happy to do a comparative costing for you to have custom wardrobes built and fitted by us.
In essence we could probably save you money, and also save you from the disappointment of the substandard wardrobes on sale by the builders.
